Sampling Paiute Cutthroat

Check out the most recent article posted by U.S. Fish and Wildlife about the Paiute Cutthroat Trout: The Rarest Trout in North America Makes a Comeback.  The GVL partnered with U.S. Fish and Wildlife to help manage the threatened Pauite Cutthroat trout population at Silver King Creek located in Carson-Iceberg Wilderness, California.  GVL scientists Dr. Mandi Finger and Grace Auringer traveled to Silver King Creek this summer to collect genetic data from the Paiute Cutthroat Population and aid in the restoration of the population to its historical habitat.  For more about the GVL's monitoring of the Paute Cutthroat trout population visit our project page.
